The Blackbird Academy students have over 700 hours of training and education in the same rooms used every day to make Grammy winning, platinum-selling records at Blackbird Studio. Even the classroom is a recording studio with an API console, patch bay, two iso booths, Pro Tools HD, three 65” flat screen TVs, and 30 student Pro Tools rigs driven by Universal Audio’s Apollo interface featuring every plugin in the UAD-2 collection.
The Blackbird Academy – Professional School of Audio, is built on the same obsessive work ethic and unbridled passion for audio we have at the studio. Founded in 2013 by John McBride and his wife, country artist Martina McBride, The Blackbird Academy has quickly risen to a top-tier school for professional audio (consistently ranked in the top 5 audio/engineering schools) and has a world-renowned reputation for outstanding graduates.
